All Saints’ Episcopal Church is proud to offer Christian Education to the children of all families who worship with us. Classes for children from Pre-School age through 7thgrade are available every Sunday during the 10 am service.  Opportunities for fellowship and community outreach are important components of our program. Please read on for more information about Christian Education at All Saints’ Episcopal Church.

Safe-Guarding Our Children

All teachers and staff must pass a background check and are required to take the on-line course offered by the Diocese of Southeast Florida, “Safe-Guarding Our Children.”

Nursery/Pre-School Program (Infant – 4 Years)

Nursery care is provided during every 10 am Sunday service.  Children in this age range are provided with developmentally appropriate activities and materials.  Pre-school children in attendance are introduced to God and His Word through the reading of simplified Bible stories and other literature exemplifying Christ-like attitudes and joyful service.  Adding music, songs and prayer, the children learn that God and Jesus love us, hear us and protect us.  A small art activity at the end of each session provides a concrete reminder of that message to take home and display.  Through active “play time” children will also learn skills in cooperation and courtesy.  Our nursery children are brought into the church during the Holy Eucharist to be blessed by the priest, and then either return to the nursery or sit with their parents for the last few minutes of the service.

Sunday School (K – 7th Grade)

Following the Seasonal Cycle of the Church Year (Advent, Christmas, Epiphany, Lent, Easter and Pentecost), students in grades K through 7thare taught with a more formal, but fun, hands-on curriculum, using each Sunday’s Gospel Lesson to reinforce their understanding of God and His Word.  As our children grow, participation with parents during the church service increases, and opportunities to train as an acolyte and lector are provided.

Teens (7th Grade – High School)

Teens have the opportunity to attend/participate in the 10 am service.  We also provide opportunities for fellowship and service to the church and community.

Vacation Bible School

Every June, All Saints’ Church provides a free week-long Vacation Bible School for our and area children.  This past summer, our parish hall was transformed into a “Shipwrecked Island” where 49 children learned through songs, games, Bible stories/verses, science activities, crafts, snacks and fellowship that Jesus is always there to “rescue” us.

Community outreach is an important part of our VBS.  This year we collected $480 to donate to the World Vision Operation Kid to Kid Project, “Growing Food for Haiti”.  We also collected over 100 pounds of food for our local community outreach, House of Hope.  With the fringe benefit of having made new friends, children leave our Vacation Bible School with the knowledge that they can be a positive force both in our local community and the world, and that God is with them wherever they go.
