All Saints’ Episcopal Church is proud to offer Christian Education to all the families who worship with us. Classes for children from Pre-School age through 6th Grade are available every Sunday during the 10 am service. In addition, we are excited to introduce First Communion classes starting on March 6th for children who are in 3rd grade or older. Please read on for detailed information about Christian Education at All Saints’ Episcopal Church.
Nursery is provided during every 10:00 Sunday service. Pre-School children who are not enrolled in a formal class are introduced to God and His Word through the reading of simplified Bible stories and other literature exemplifying Christ-like attitudes and joyful service. Adding music, songs and prayer, the children learn that God and Jesus love us, hear us and protect us. A small art craft at the end of each session provides a concrete reminder of that message to take home and display. Through active “play time” children will also learn skills in cooperation and courtesy. Our nursery children are brought into the church to be blessed by Father Frisby during the Holy Eucharist and then returned to the nursery.
Following the Seasonal Cycle of the Church Year (Advent, Christmas, Epiphany, Lent, Easter and Pentecost), students in grades K through 6th are taught with a more formal curriculum reinforcing their understandings about God and His Word and how it is reflected in their lives. As our children grow, participation with parents during the church service increases, and opportunities to train as an acolyte and lector are provided.
Our teens meet every Sunday morning with an adult teacher to continue their understandings of God and His Word and how it connects with their lives and the world around us. Opportunities for service to the church and the community are provided.
