Father Frisby

The Rev. W. Frisby Hendricks, III, affectionately known as “Father Frisby” (and not to be confused with his dad, also an Episcopal priest, who was known as “Father Hendricks”), arrived at All Saints’ in the middle of Lent, 2005, as an interim priest.  Previously, he had served parishes in Portsmouth and Richmond, Virginia; Binghamton, New York; and West Palm Beach, Florida.

In the autumn of 2005 the Bishop of the Diocese of Southeast Florida granted the Vestry’s request that Father Frisby be given the opportunity to become priest-in-charge.  In 2009 he was instituted as the seventh Rector of All Saints’ Episcopal Church.

His interests are liturgy, a subject which he enjoyed teaching as a lecturer at the Diocesan School for Christian Studies in Ft. Lauderdale, and history, which fits in nicely as he serves as the pastor of Martin County’s oldest church.

He is married to Jean Ann, who teaches History and Political Science at Cardinal Newman High School in West Palm Beach. She loves the water, was on the swimming team at her college in Connecticut, and has lived much of her life on the shores of Long Island, in New London, Connecticut, in Portsmouth, Virginia, and now here on the Treasure Coast.

Jean Ann and Father Frisby are the proud parents of three sons: Cary, Geoffrey, and Christopher.  Cary graduated from Florida State University and is married to Laura.  Geoffrey, a graduate of the University of Florida, is married to Olivia.  The two get along well, until it is football season or basketball season.  Father and Jean Ann’s youngest son is Christopher, a junior at Georgia Southern University.  Christopher enjoys playing football and lacrosse in school.

Father Frisby is a graduate of East Carolina University and Seabury-Western Theological Seminary, Class of 1974, and reminds any listener that two of the six previous Rectors of All Saints’ have graduated from this Chicago-land seminary.

Father Frisby always has a smile and time for any member or visitor.  He can be reached through the church office at 772-334-0610, or via email.
